Tuesday 24th March 2020.

March Meeting
7:30pm for 7:45pm start – 10:30pm

Burnside Community Centre, 401 Greenhill Road Tusmore, corner Portrush Road, behind the Burnside Town Hall.

This will be our Annual General Meeting. Election of officers and committee, review minutes of previous year’s AGM, Treasuter’s Report, appoint auditor, set membership fees for coming year, any other business.

Following the AGM we will have a presentation on the emerging Jujube Industry.

Graham Brookman will introduce the surprising Zizyphus genus and illustrate its importance as a food, a medicine and as a plant which is climate-change-ready. The importance of  biosecurity will also be highlighted through the issue of fresh jujube importation into our country.

Chair of the SA Jujube Growers Association Jody Miltenoff  will explain how the Association brought SA growers, Chinese experts and universities together, promising good things for your gut, and how the good tidings can be ‘cellarbrated’ with a stunning new ale.

The packed presentation will also include everything you need to know about getting the best varieties, growing and protecting jujube trees, from the quiet achiever Ben Waddelow whose encyclopaedic knowledge, comprehensive collection, productive orchard and market knowledge will be illustrated.
