May Meeting 28th May 2019:

Our guest speaker will be Dr Katja Hogendoorn, School of Agriculture, Food and Wine, University of Adelaide.

Katja will be talking about the beauty and diversity of Australian native bees. She will discuss our reliance on honey bees for crop pollination, and argue that feral honey bees constitute both a major environmental pest and a biosecurity issue. She will review current and foreseen bee declines and finally give some insights into how we can manage the impact of these declines, both for the natural environment and pollination dependent crops.
